New Games That Could Be Announced at State of Play
PlayStation’s State of Play is happening soon; specifically, the show is starting on February 12 at 2pm PT/5pm ET/11pm CEST and February 13 at 7am JST on YouTube and Twitch.
Although the set of games that will appear is still unknown, we know some titles could be announced in the category of World Premiere, like Resident Evil 4 Remake, Borderlands 4, and Ghost of Yotei, which were announced at previous State of Play shows. Below you can check the list of titles that are still not confirmed officially but are rumored to be in development and potentially could be revealed tonight.
PC version of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is definitely coming to PC, just like the original game did back in 2020, 8 months after its release on PlayStation 4. Not only does last year’s update on ESRB confirm that, but recently Hideo Kojima started teasing the version of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach for PC, as the game designer is back for the video edition for the first time in 8 months. The players have noticed multiple Death Stranding 2: On the Beach clues, and the announcement of a PC version at State of Play looks really possible.
Resident Evil 5 Remake

Though this announcement remains doubtful, it still could happen, as recently the Xbox Series version of Resident Evil 5 received a mysterious update that could lead to the game’s remake being in development because of the “In-Game Purchases” line. A reliable Resident Evil insider AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem, previously denied Capcom is working on a Resident Evil 5 remake; however, the developers could have an ace up their sleeve and reveal the remake, just like they did in 2022’s State of Play to show Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Devil May Cry 6

Another Capcom franchise, Devil May Cry, could receive a new game soon: according to multiple reports, Devil May Cry 6 is indeed in development, though the details are mostly unknown. Moreover, gaming insider TripleSeven reveals the game will be confirmed at State of Play on February 12, but it’s just speculation for the moment.
New God of War Video Game
Just like a new Devil May Cry, the new God of War, heavily rumored to be in development, could get an official announcement on tonight’s show. As revealed by PlayStation insider TCMFgames in the latest reports, the new God of War will be set in ancient Greece and serve as a prequel to the Greek God of War Saga. He also states the game could be shown at State of Play, which will be really exciting.
Starfield Coming to PlayStation 5
It’s not specifically the announcement of the new game, but multiple reports suggest Starfield will be available on PlayStation 5 soon, and according to PPE, the release date is currently scheduled for April 17. Of course, this should be considered with a grain of salt; however, there is no better option to present a port on PlayStation 5 than PlayStation’s State of Play.
Red Dead Redemption 2 for Next-Gen Consoles
Similar situation to PS5’s Starfield. The versions of Red Dead Redemption 2 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, according to the latest report from insider NateTheHate, will be released this year, though no other details have been revealed. Rockstar Games rarely appears at shows like State of Play, but again, it could be a nice place to promote a PlayStation 5 game. Although the announcement remains unlikely, as Rockstar could be focusing on Grand Theft Auto VI development more, it’s still possible.
The New DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
There is so much speculation about a new DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, including the game’s possible story, budget, price, and even the potential release date set for this summer. One thing is known for sure—the game will set up the upcoming The Witcher 4, and although CD Projekt RED hasn’t confirmed or announced anything from above, State of Play is the perfect place to take off the masks.
