Resident Evil 5 Remake Could Be in Development After All
Last month, Resident Evil 5 actress Karen Dyer hinted the game’s remake could be announced soon, as the game series marks its 30th anniversary in March. However, it was quickly denied by Resident Evil insider AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem.
Nevertheless, there might be another reason to be excited, as the ESRB page for the Xbox Series version of Resident Evil 5 has recently received a mysterious update with the tag In-Game Purchases. As we know, Capcom previously added microtransactions in Resident Evil 4 Remake in the Treasure Map: Expansion DLC, and this could be a sign Resident Evil 5 Remake is actually in development, despite previous insider reports.

Moreover, Capcom could even announce the upgraded version of Resident Evil 5 this week, as the next State of Play event is scheduled for February 12. The studio previously unveiled the remake of Resident Evil 4 back in 2022 during another State of Play show.
Capcom is also releasing a new Resident Evil game this month, as Resident Evil Requiem launches on February 27 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. The game will feature Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy as main protagonists.
