Assassin’s Creed Shadows Adds New Game+ and Big Fixes in Patch 1.0.7

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is getting back in action with a massive new update. Ubisoft has launched Patch 1.0.7, a 16GB download on Ubisoft Connect (or 9GB on Steam), and it brings some serious changes. Whether you’re into the story, the loot grind, or just slicing up enemies with precision, this patch aims to improve every corner of the experience.

First and biggest: Patch 1.0.7 introduces New Game+, finally giving players a way to carry over their journey and dive into a fresh run with added rewards. You’ll need to finish all the storylines of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro first. Once that’s done, you’ll find the New Game+ option in the Animus menu. Complete it, and you unlock “Whisper of Gold” and “Dragon’s Gold,” which include unique, gold-plated Legendary Katanas with special perks.

The patch also raises the level cap from 60 to 80. This isn’t just a number bump—Ubisoft has added tougher enemy behavior, smarter combat tactics, and deeper Knowledge Rank progression. You can now level up your Knowledge Path to ranks 9 and 10, unlocking more passives, skills, and combat moves. It’s the kind of content players have been asking for since launch.

Performance tuning and fixes are also a big part of the update. Visual bugs like floating trees and off-position weapon effects have been addressed. There’s even a specific PC-only crash fix tied to hideout cosmetics—especially if you're using the Dragon Skin.

Some updates are subtle but impactful. You now earn more materials when breaking down items. Companion characters scale better as you level, and enemy types like Ronin now have more health to keep up with your upgraded skills. There’s also a full economy adjustment—items cost less to buy and sell for more, making gear upgrades and consumables more manageable.

There are also tons of skill and perk fixes. Several bugged passives and gear perks have been corrected, including upgrades like “Extended Perception,” “Nightcrawler,” and “Teppo’s Might.” Players who rely on damage boosts or stealth tools should now see them working as intended. And yes, adrenaline and ability tree bugs have been cleaned up too.

Ubisoft isn’t just improving performance and balance. They're continuing to expand the game’s reach. According to internal reports, Assassin's Creed: Shadows hits 5 million players, a huge milestone just months after release. That’s despite some bumps along the way—launch issues, some controversial quest bugs, and a few misfires in the progression system.

Meanwhile, fans are still enjoying the ongoing DLC update roadmap. The game has already teased new seasonal events and side quests. Ubisoft previously confirmed plans for three major content expansions, with the first already dropping in June. A second is set for this fall, and this new patch helps prepare the systems and rewards ahead of that drop.

That moment fits into a bigger trend. Ubisoft has been more engaged with players lately—sharing regular patch notes, responding to complaints, and even making quest changes based on community reports. With Patch 1.0.5, the team fixed multiple progression blockers in major missions and addressed weapon scaling bugs. This new update continues that trend and shows they’re listening closely.

As Shadows heads into the second half of its launch year, it’s clear the game isn’t slowing down. Between DLC updates, seasonal events, a growing player base, and quality of life fixes, Ubisoft is setting it up to be one of the most played Assassin’s Creed entries in years.
