Assassin's Creed Shadows Hits 5 Million Players

Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the latest installment in the Assassin’s Creed game series, has reached a new milestone. Ubisoft has announced that the game has surpassed 5 million players. However, the company has not yet revealed the number of copies sold, especially considering the game is also available through the Ubisoft+ subscription service.

To recap, Assassin’s Creed Shadows was released on March 20, 2025, and quickly gained popularity. The game's events unfold in feudal Japan between 1579 and the early 1580s. The main characters are the kunoichi Naoe and the samurai Yasuke. This is the first title in the series since 2015 in which the conflict between Assassins and Templars returns to its classic form.
