Apex Legends 2025 Midseason Playoffs Join the Esports World Cup Lineup

Electronic Arts has officially announced that the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS): 2025 Midseason Playoffs will take place as part of the Esports World Cup 2025, according to an update on the game’s official blog.

The high-stakes tournament will feature 40 top-tier teams battling for a $2 million prize pool, along with valuable ALGS Championship Points. The event is set to run from July 10 to July 13.

Format and Schedule

The competition kicks off with two groups of 20 teams each. Every group will play 10 matches, after which:

• The top 7 teams from each group will advance directly to the finals.
• Teams ranked 8th to 17th will drop into the Last Chance Qualifier.
• Teams finishing in 18th to 20th place will be eliminated from the tournament.

The Last Chance Qualifier will determine the remaining 6 finalists, bringing together the top performers from both stages for an epic conclusion.

A First for ALGS at the Esports World Cup

While Apex Legends made its debut at the Esports World Cup in 2024, this year marks the first time the tournament will be officially integrated into the ALGS circuit — raising the stakes and significance for all participating squads.
