⚙️ Season 26 Update Overview

While not the largest update of the season, the October patch continues Respawn’s ongoing efforts to balance weapon power and Legend abilities.

Season 26 has already been full of major adjustments — the mid-season update in September brought nerfs to Ash and Caustic, while reworking Seer and Mad Maggie. Weapon tuning also hit the Wingman and RE-45 Burst, shaking up the gunplay meta. Now, with Split 2 in full swing, Respawn is back with another round of fine-tuning.

Apex Legends Rolls Out October 2025 Update: Peacekeeper Nerfed, Sentinel Returns 1

Peacekeeper Nerfed

According to Respawn’s October 7 patch notes, the Peacekeeper has been nerfed to bring its performance closer to other shotguns.

Changes include:

  • 🔸 Rechamber time increased (slower fire rate)
  • 🔸 Magazine size reduced from 6 → 5

🧠 Developer Note: “The PK is outperforming other close-quarters weapons by a sizable margin. We want to maintain its raw power but slow down how quickly it can deliver that damage.”

This adjustment aims to make shotgun duels more balanced while keeping the Peacekeeper’s signature punch intact.

Sentinel Returns

After a lengthy removal due to a persistent bug, the Sentinel sniper rifle is officially back in the loot pool. Respawn confirmed that the weapon “now works as intended,” restoring one of Apex Legends’ most beloved long-range options.

Alter and Seer Adjustments

The October update also includes balance tweaks for Alter and Seer, further refining gameplay flow and counterplay opportunities.

Alter Changes:

  • Void Nexus limited to 1 per map (was 2)
  • Downed players can no longer use Void Nexus to escape being finished
  • Teammates can still summon knocked allies through the portal

Seer Changes:

  • 🚫 ADS hover removed while inside Exhibit
  • Added a “short full-body scan” to Lasting Beats when an enemy exits the Ultimate’s area

🔧 Technical Fixes and Gameplay Improvements

Respawn also introduced a variety of technical fixes aimed at improving overall gameplay stability and server performance.

General Fixes:

  • Improved server performance, reducing slow-motion instances (work still ongoing)
  • Trident: Brake keybind reverted to previous setting; visual indicator fix pending
  • Fixed POV issue when entering a Trident
  • Mad Maggie now sprints at the correct speed while using shotguns

What This Means for the Meta

Many players have voiced concerns that the Peacekeeper had become overly dominant since leaving the Care Package, so these nerfs are a welcome response. The Sentinel’s return should also diversify long-range combat options, while Alter’s Void Nexus limit prevents overly chaotic escapes.

As always, the true test will come in ranked play and competitive tournaments. For now, Respawn’s commitment to active balancing and stability keeps Apex Legends’ Season 26 fresh and evolving.

Verdict: The October 2025 update may not reinvent the game, but it’s another step toward a more balanced, polished Apex Legends experience.
