Watch Dogs Legion: Director’s Cut Is In Works at Ubisoft
Despite earlier concerns, revealed by insider Tom Henderson, that Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs game series may be “dead,” the new Watch Dogs game, sort of, is now being developed by Ubisoft. It’s not really a new game but will feature some new content.
Just like with the report about “the death” of Watch Dogs franchise revealed by Tom Henderson, he recently appeared on the latest Insider Gaming Weekly podcast. Besides sharing some new information on the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Hexe, he also shared that Ubisoft is working on the director’s cut of 2020’s Watch Dogs: Legion. Although he didn’t mention something specific about the game’s new version, the director’s cut will reportedly feature some new content, including new animations and a mystery “Night mode.” Ubisoft is also currently doing a mocap for the game.

Certainly, some Watch Dogs would like to see a new video game, but considering early reports that the game series might be dead, this report is actually giving them hope it’s not dead at all. There is also a Watch Dogs movie in development, directed by Mathieu Turi (Meandre), although it will not adapt the events of video games but offer an original story. The confirmed cast of the movie so far consists of Sophie Wilde, Tom Blyth, and Markella Kavenagh.
