Mafia: The Old Country Has PC Requirements, Here’s the Breakdown
Buckle up. 2K Games just dropped the full PC specs for Mafia: The Old Country, and if you're rocking anything below a 2070, you might want to start budgeting for a GPU upgrade. Oh, and yes, it’s got Denuvo.
The info came straight from 2K and Hangar13, who also confirmed the rumored August 8, 2025, release date. Alongside that, we’ve got our first gameplay trailer (which looks slick, by the way), and full PC system requirements for both minimum and recommended setups.
Here's Mafia's System Requirements:
Requirement Type | Specs |
Minimum | |
OS | Windows 10/ 11 |
Processor | AMD Ryzen 7 2700X/ Intel Core i7-9700K |
Memory | 16 GB RAM |
Graphics | AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT/ NVIDIA RTX 2070 |
DirectX | Version 12 |

OS | Windows 10/ 11 |
Processor | AMD Ryzen 7 5800X/ Intel Core i7-12700K |

Graphics | AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT/ NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti |
DirectX | Version 12 |

So yeah, this game doesn’t mess around. Even the minimum requires a Ryzen 7 chip and a 2070. That’s just to get it running at 1080p on Medium. If you’re aiming for smooth 1440p gameplay, you’ll need at least 32GB of RAM and a 3080 Ti—or AMD’s equivalent.
Pre-order Mafia: Old Country now! For PC, you can do so on Steam, on the game's official page. Summer, heat, Sicily!
"PC gamers will at least need an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X or Intel Core i7-9700K with 16GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT or NVIDIA RTX 2070. With this PC, you’ll be able to run it at 1080p on Medium Settings."
"Hangar13 recommends an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X or Intel Core i7-12700K with 32GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT or NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti. With such a PC system, you will be able to play the game at 1440p on High settings."
This is one of those games where the engine (Unreal Engine 5) is going to push every pixel hard, and likely push your CPU even harder. While they didn’t mention specific framerates, we can guess based on recent UE5 titles that 60fps might not be a lock even on high-end systems.
Let’s at least hope that there won’t be any traversal stutters. Heh, who am I kidding? Of course,e and there will be traversal stutters.
Yep. That UE5 jank isn't going anywhere. Anyone who’s played Lords of the Fallen, Immortals of Aveum, or Remnant 2 knows what’s up—expect shader stutters, streaming hitches, and occasional frame drops unless there’s some serious engine-side optimization happening.

Wait, It’s Got Denuvo Too?
Unfortunately, yes. 2K confirmed that Mafia: The Old Country will ship with Denuvo anti-tamper DRM, which is always a mixed bag. Some people don’t care. Others straight-up won’t buy games that include it. If you're in the latter camp, you’ve been warned.

Mafia Old Country Release Date: August 8, 2025
In addition to all the tech talk, the release date is now officialб, August 8th, so you've got three months to get your rig ready or start planning your backlog clearing. It’s launching on PC and consoles, but this post is for the PC diehards.
They also dropped a new gameplay trailer titled "Whatever it Takes," which is mostly cinematic but does give a taste of the tone. Think late 1940s brutality with a modern edge, lots of trench coats, and the signature Mafia moodiness dialed to 11.

We Will Play It
This one’s shaping up to be a hardware crusher. UE5 is demanding, the minimum specs are aggressive, and there’s Denuvo on top of that. But if the gameplay holds up and Hangar13 delivers on the Mafia vibes, it might just be worth the upgrade.
So yeah, Mafia: The Old Country isn’t going to be easy on your system—or your patience if you're running something mid-tier. But if you’re still down to take a ride through betrayal, family, and firepower, you’ve got until August to prep.
Just make sure your SSD has 55GB free… and probably close that Chrome tab with 200 open tabs too. You're gonna need the RAM.
