Genshin Impact Reveals New Inazuma Chronicled Banner for Version 5.6

Genshin Impact has officially unveiled a new Chronicled Banner for Version 5.6, offering players another opportunity to summon their favorite 5-Star characters from Inazuma. With nearly a hundred playable characters now available, managing banner schedules has become increasingly difficult for HoYoverse. As a result, many beloved characters, from Eula and Shenhe to Kokomi and Cyno, have been left without reruns for long periods. The Chronicled Banner system was introduced to address this growing imbalance.

Chronicled Banners: A New but Imperfect Solution

Although the Chronicled Banner system offers hope for players wanting older characters, it hasn’t been without criticism. The biggest problem so far is the lack of a consistent schedule.

The first Chronicled Banner appeared in Version 4.5, and the second followed in Version 5.3. While the gap between the Liyue and Inazuma banners has been short, it’s still unclear how often these banners will rotate each year—especially with the possibility of future versions focusing on Sumeru characters.

The Inazuma Chronicled Banner was officially revealed during the Version 5.6 developer livestream and later shared on the Genshin Impact subreddit by community contributor Bisentinel. Interestingly, the banner lineup does not include Yumemizuki Mizuki, the newest Standard character. Instead, players will only risk losing their 50:50 to Limited 5-Star characters like Chiori, Itto, and Kokomi.

Inazuma Chronicled Banner Lineup

Here are the featured characters players can target:

  • Ayaka – 5-Star Cryo Sword
  • Ayato – 5-Star Hydro Sword
  • Yoimiya – 5-Star Pyro Bow
  • Chiori – 5-Star Geo Sword
  • Yae Miko – 5-Star Electro Catalyst
  • Arataki Itto – 5-Star Geo Claymore
  • Sangonomiya Kokomi – 5-Star Hydro Catalyst
  • Kazuha – 5-Star Anemo Sword

Just like previous Chronicled Banners, pity from past Chronicled Banners carries over. Players will again be able to choose a 5-Star character or 5-Star weapon they want to guarantee.

While Kokomi's Everlasting Moonglow is less desirable, the available signature weapons—Uraki Misugiri, Mistsplitter Reforged, Redhorn Stonethresher, and Thundering Pulse—are highly valuable for many team compositions. However, players should be aware: it takes up to 180 pulls to fully guarantee their desired 5-Star on the Chronicled Banner.

Other Highlights Coming in Version 5.6

Version 5.6 won’t just focus on the Chronicled Banner. It will also feature a new set of limited banners:

  • First Half: Escoffier and Navia
  • Second Half: Kinich and Raiden Shogun

Additionally, this update will take players back to Mondstadt, which raises the possibility of a future Mondstadt Chronicled Banner.

Still, the question remains: what about underused Sumeru characters like Cyno, who hasn't seen a rerun in thirteen updates? Fans will have to wait and see how HoYoverse balances future banners across multiple regions.

Genshin Impact Version 5.6 is scheduled to launch on May 7.
