Former S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Developer Announces Indie Horror Game LYSA HORA
Denys Rudyi, a Ukrainian developer who previously served as Level Design Team Lead on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, has announced the release of his own indie project, LYSA HORA: The Haunted Hill. The announcement was made on the GamedevDOU forum, where Rudyi shared details about the upcoming game.
LYSA HORA: The Haunted Hill is described as a science-fiction atmospheric horror title inspired by a real location in Kyiv. According to the developer, many of the environments were created using real photographs and references from the area, which were later expanded through artistic design and gameplay mechanics.
The story centers on a student who moves to a big city hoping to start a new chapter in life, but soon begins experiencing recurring nightmares about a mysterious hill. In these dreams, he encounters underground tunnels, abandoned facilities, and a strange device that once contained something dangerous. While searching for answers, the protagonist uncovers classified documents in a city archive, leading him to investigate the hill itself.
The gameplay will focus on exploration, uncovering pieces of the story, solving challenging puzzles, and navigating obstacles using parkour-style movement. The developer also noted that the game blends elements of ancient rituals with Soviet-era experiments, adding an extra layer of mystery to the narrative.
LYSA HORA: The Haunted Hill is currently scheduled to launch on Steam on April 24.
