Fortnite (and More) Coming to Windows on Snapdragon Soon
Easy Anti-Cheat is finally getting Windows on Snapdragon support, meaning Fortnite and other multiplayer games will actually work on Arm-based PCs. Epic just confirmed it’s happening later this year.
For those rocking Qualcomm chips, this is a big win. Until now, Fortnite and tons of other online games were unplayable on Windows Arm machines due to Easy Anti-Cheat not being supported. That’s about to change. Epic’s announcement means these devices will finally be able to handle competitive online gaming without being locked out by anti-cheat barriers.
Epic says it's working with Qualcomm to bring Easy Anti-Cheat to Snapdragon-powered Windows devices and will roll out an SDK so other devs can add support to their games, too. So, it’s not just Fortnite – more multiplayer titles should start working soon. That could open the door for a wave of new compatibility, making Windows-on-Arm a much more viable option for gamers who’ve been stuck dealing with emulation workarounds.
Windows-on-Arm gaming has been rough, thanks to shaky emulation and limited native support. Many games either don’t run at all or suffer from performance issues, making Qualcomm-powered PCs a hard sell for gamers. But with this move, the experience should improve – at least for online play. Having proper Easy Anti-Cheat support could push more developers to optimize their games for the platform instead of leaving Arm users in the dust.
