Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 Battle Pass Skins Revealed
Fortnite’s Chapter 6 Season 1 was widely praised for its Japan-inspired aesthetic and crossovers, but Chapter 6 Season 2 is a drastic departure. Titled “Lawless,” the new season revolves around a crime-ridden city called Crime City. The battle pass skins, revealed in full ahead of next week’s release, have not generated the same excitement. In fact, many fans are calling it one of the worst battle passes in recent memory.
One of the most notable skins in the new pass is a gangster version of Midas, a rapper pickle, and the Mortal Kombat character Sub Zero. There’s also the possibility that Scorpion will join the season later on. However, the skins have left much to be desired, with many of them appearing generic and uninspired.

While the “Wolf guy” with a full cap stands out as one of the few exceptions, most of the skins — especially the female ones — look incredibly basic. They seem like the type of skins players would have unlocked after completing low-level challenges in the past, rather than skins that feel fresh or unique. Even Midas, who is usually a fan favorite, doesn't quite stand out in this new iteration.
The addition of Sub Zero is also underwhelming. The character seems to be a stripped-down version of his original form, and there’s little in the design to indicate it’s one of Fortnite’s better crossovers. While there’s hope for alternate skins or cool ice effects, the base version of Sub Zero feels lackluster.

The theme of the season itself also has fans questioning the direction of Fortnite. While the Japanese influence in Season 1 made sense, the crime-themed “Lawless” season feels disconnected, especially with the inclusion of Mortal Kombat characters. The season’s main gameplay mechanic of breaking into vaults to steal items has been done before, leading to a sense of déjà vu rather than excitement.
Fortnite's player count is unlikely to crash due to the season's disappointing start, but it’s clear that many players were hoping for more. As the season’s launch approaches, the community remains divided on what the next chapter of Fortnite will bring. Only time will tell if the season will surprise players or if it’ll be remembered as a misstep in the game's evolution.
