Take-Two 'Fully Expects' to Support Switch 2
Take-Two Interactive has stated it "fully expects" to support Nintendo's upcoming Switch 2, indicating that no game is off the table for the next-generation console.
During the company’s latest financial results call, as reported by Eurogamer, CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked about the extent to which Take-Two’s games—such as Borderlands, Mafia, and Grand Theft Auto—could make their way to Switch 2.
While Zelnick did not confirm any specific titles, he highlighted a shift in Take-Two’s approach to Nintendo’s audience. "We've had a long-standing relationship with Nintendo, and we've supported the platform when it made sense for the individual release," he said. "There was a time when Nintendo platforms were really geared at younger audiences, and that was reflected in our release schedule. But now, with Switch and potentially with Switch 2, the device can support any audience."
Recent Take-Two releases on Switch, including Civilization 7, reinforce this change in strategy. Though it's unclear whether Grand Theft Auto 6 will be feasible on Switch 2, Take-Two may see an opportunity to bring GTA 5 and GTA Online to Nintendo’s growing player base.
Meanwhile, Rockstar confirmed that GTA 6 remains on track for an autumn 2025 launch, maintaining the anticipation for one of the biggest releases in gaming history.
