Nintendo Switch 2 Game Box Size Leaked
Fans of the Nintendo Switch 2 have started discussing something a bit unexpected: the size of its physical game cases. A listing spotted on French retailer Fnac seemingly leaked the dimensions for a Take-Two Interactive game designed for the upcoming console.
If accurate, the new Nintendo Switch 2 game boxes will be slightly larger than those of the original Switch, measuring 5.1 inches (13 cm) by 7.7 inches (19.5 cm). While still smaller than the cases for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 games, this shift has already sparked discussions across the internet.
A Reddit post by HertzBurst mockingly compared the two box sizes, showing how the Switch 2 cases would compare to the familiar Switch cases. While not officially confirmed by Nintendo, the change seems plausible, given that retailers often receive product details in advance to help with stock preparations.
This revelation adds to the growing anticipation surrounding the Switch 2. Though Nintendo hasn’t confirmed an official release window, it’s expected that the console could hit shelves sometime between June and September of this year. This timing is supported by hands-on events scheduled before June and statements from Nacon, the publisher of Greedfall 2, who suggested the release would come before September.
The Nintendo Switch 2’s reveal earlier this month confirmed a few key details, such as backward compatibility with Switch games and the addition of a second USB-C port. However, questions remain about the new features, including the mysterious new button on the Joy-Con controller.
