FIFA 23 broke into the weekly sales chart on Steam

The release of FIFA 23, just like in almost all other cases, did not go unnoticed and helped the game break into the weekly chart at the start of its sales. This year, Electronic Arts' football sim ranked second on the list of the best-selling products on Steam last week.

The first place was naturally taken by Steam Deck, a portable gaming device from Valve. It has been in the top for a long time and, apparently, is not going to cede leadership to anyone else yet.

It is worth noting that FIFA 23 was able to take two positions at once due to the fact that it is sold in separate editions. In second place is the Ultimate Edition, while regular FIFA 23 is fourth on the list.

The football simulator became available to some players on September 26 as an early access game, and on the 30th the title was officially released and everyone can play it.

Earlier, Electronic Arts announced the renaming of a series of football simulators. The company was unable to come to a unanimous decision with the International Football Federation to renew the license for the FIFA name. As a result, the game will be released under the name EA Sports FC in the future.

Third place in the top was taken by another game published under the publishing house of Electronic Arts, Need For Speed Heat. The title was released in November 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and was later released on next generation consoles, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The race owes such merit to the 95% discount, which Electronic Arts decided to attract more gamers. It is possible that soon the publisher will announce a new part of this series, which will be the 25th anniversary.

The top five games were closed by Cyberpunk 2077, which gathered a stir around itself after the release of an anime based on a computer game from CD Projekt RED.

The latest entry to hit the weekly chart was BONELAB. It is noteworthy that this is an action game for VR devices, and such games get into the weekly charts quite infrequently.

Slime Rancher 2, which was released on September 22, did not leave the top 10, and pre-orders for FIFA 23 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 took 8th, 9th and 10th places.
