Warcraft III Reforged shows signs of life

Community Manager Warcraft III Reforged reported on the game forum that Blizzard is preparing a big update for their title. The game will have to get a new patch on August 17th. All innovations are planned in update 1.33.

Before the release of Diablo Immortal, Warcraft III Reforged was the lowest-rated title in video game history on the main review aggregator Metacritic. The title had a rating of 0.5 out of 10 possible. The anti-record was broken 2 years later by the same Blizzard studio with the release of Diablo Immortal. The latter received 0.3 points out of 10.

Warcraft III Reforged is a real time strategy game. It was developed by Blizzard Entertainment and Lemon Sky Studios and released in 2020. The title is an updated version of the legendary Warcraft III strategy Reign of Chaos along with the built-in add-on The Frozen Throne. Of the changes in the game, there should be only graphic elements, and the developers promised to leave the gameplay as it was. In addition, Blizzard has set itself the goal of updating the audio component of the game and improve support for online mode. The game was released 2 years after the official announcement, which took place as part of BlizzCon 2018.

• Reworked in-game cutscenes with a total duration of four hours (the promise at the release of the game was not kept. The final result is different from what was shown at Blizzcon 2018. In fact, only the opening cutscene and the fight between Arthas and Illidan were redrawn)
• Game map overhaul (only four maps changed: Stratholme Massacre, Battle for Silvermoon City, Dalaran Conquest, and Dalaran Dungeons)
• Ability to switch between old and new graphics in the same way as it was implemented in Diablo II Resurrected
• Full support for standard Warcraft III maps in Warcraft III Reforged
• Improvement of all audio design, bringing all sounds and music to a new level of quality
• Some heroes have changed their gender
• Modular interface that can be modified by map creators
