World of Warcraft Ghosts of K’aresh Patch Adds /Lean Emote and Bugs Ahead of Midnight Reveal
World of Warcraft’s newest major update, patch 11.2 Ghosts of K’aresh, has landed with a new zone, a new raid, fresh dungeons, a new delve, more story content, and an unexpected highlight — the ability for your character to casually lean against walls. While players explore the new content, the patch has also brought some strange bugs, all arriving just weeks before Blizzard’s planned reveal of the next expansion, Midnight, at Gamescom 2025.
The headline feature for many isn’t a new boss or dungeon but a new emote:/lean. Type it in-game, and your character will rest against a wall, striking a pose that works equally well for looking cool or just passing the time. If there’s no wall nearby, the animation still plays, leaving your character leaning in mid-air with an awkward but amusing stance.

Players have already embraced the feature. One community member ranked every race and gender by their/lean style, giving the top spot to Blood Elves and Void Elves for their sharp, sassy posture, while putting Gnome males, Draenei females, Goblins, and both male and female Dracthyr at the bottom for stiff, unremarkable poses. Others are experimenting with in-game toys while leaning, such as holding a compass or a drink, making the animation feel even more natural.
This playful addition is proving especially popular among role-players. In cities, characters can now be spotted leaning against buildings while away from the keyboard. Some raid groups are already imagining ways to make use of the pose between boss pulls, with one player joking about leaning against the new raid’s purple walls during yet another strategy explanation.
The main chunk of content in Ghosts of K’aresh includes the Manaforge Omega raid, set to open next week. The new zone of K’aresh comes with its own set of challenges, but right now many players are talking just as much about the technical issues they’ve encountered since the patch went live.
One of the most unusual bugs changes bank tab names into other languages, regardless of the player’s client or server region. Some English-speaking players are seeing their bank interface in German, while others have French text, and one reported that their spouse’s game had switched to German while theirs remained in French. The bug doesn’t seem to affect any other part of the game.
Other quirks have been less charming. Some quests in K’aresh fail to update or disappear entirely, forcing players to reload the game or abandon and retake objectives. Certain objects require a full client restart before they can be interacted with, and there have been widespread reports of disconnects and login issues. A few bugs have taken a more comedic turn, such as the game trying to charge one player 500,000 gold to enter the Darkmoon Faire. Another player, possibly due to an addon conflict, found their bags expanded to hold 98 items each — far more than any in-game bag should allow.
It’s not unusual for major WoW patches to have a rocky start, and Blizzard is already working on fixes. Most issues are expected to be resolved in the coming days or by the next weekly reset.
Patch 11.2 is also notable for being the final update of the current expansion, The War Within. All attention is now turning toward Gamescom 2025, where Blizzard will officially unveil Midnight, the next chapter in the Worldsoul Saga. The reveal will be part of a full week of events in Cologne, Germany, running from August 20–24. Alongside the announcement, the WoW booth will host a Mythic Dungeon and Arena showcase, cosplay events, developer meet-and-greets, and other community activities. Blizzard has promised exclusive news from the development team and hinted at a few surprises in store.
With the Ghosts of K’aresh patch settling in and Midnight’s announcement just around the corner, World of Warcraft players are balancing their time between exploring new content, making the most of the/lean emote, and dealing with some odd technical hiccups. By the time the next expansion reveal hits Gamescom, the bugs will likely be fixed, but the wall-leaning will be here to stay.
