Electronic Arts selects Grass Valley as new provider
Electronic Arts Competitive Gaming Entertainment (CGE), EA's esports arm, has announced that it will use the tools of Montreal media provider Grass Valley to host its online competition for FIFA 21 and Apex Legends.
The Grass Valley Agile Media Processing Platform (GV AMPP) will allow EA to remotely coordinate teams across two disciplines around the world. The Grass Valley system will continue to be used for the 2020-2021 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
GV AMPP is part of the GV Media Universe Grass Valley, an ecosystem of services and markets that enable teams to work in cloud-based media processes.
Note that EA has already tested Grass Valley tools during the Apex Legends Live Tournament in early December. Shortly thereafter, EA used the AMPP platform to support the European qualifier for the FIFA 21 Global Series, which included over 20 camera broadcasts from Europe and Northern Virginia.
