EA announces new season of Apex Legends subtitled "Reverly"
Apex Legends developers EA and Respawn have unveiled a new season. The upcoming update, which will be released on February 14, will be subtitled “Reverly” and will bring several significant innovations to the game at once.
Updated legend classes
With the start of the fresh season, a new legend will not appear in the game. Instead, the developers are focusing on rebalancing and reimagining the available characters.
The main innovation of “Reverly” will be a reworked champion class system. There are five main classes in EA:
- Attack
- Intelligence service
- clash
- Control
- Support
Depending on the affiliation to one of the specializations, the legends will have a unique set of properties. More details about the features of each of the classes are promised to be told closer to the release of the update, but it is already clear that the bonuses will be displayed in interaction with loot containers and each other, the resurrection of allies, and so on.
Along with the reworking of the class system, some changes await certain legends. Lifeline, Ciara and Cyr will receive personal attention from the developers, but some of the trio will be strengthened, and some will be vice versa.
New game mode, weapons and rotation of available mods
A new mod will become available for players in Riverly. Apex Legends will have "team deathmatch" permanently.
Previously, the mode was active for the first three weeks of the current season, and now it will be fixed in the list of playable on a permanent basis. At the same time, a rotation of modes will be added to the game, under the general name “Collection”.
The “Collection” will include the “Team Deathmatch”, “Control” and “Gun Race” mods. With a dynamic selection of game modes, you can test new legends, test new weapons and prepare for full Apex battles.
The Collection is a great place to unleash Retribution, the new energy rifle in Apex Legends. The developers hope that it will be able to compete with the popular R-301 carbine and the Flatline.
Beginner Mode
The Riverly update promises to be revolutionary in terms of encouraging new players. The authors of Apex Legends want to attract even more users to the game, and therefore they focus on interacting with newcomers.
Newly arrived Apex Legends will be able to learn the basics of the game in an updated Shooting Range with more agile dummies and stats, and play some tutorial matches later. In addition, games with bots are provided for such players, which will allow them to learn the basic aspects of the game in a relaxed environment.
The “Riverly” update for Apex Legends is scheduled to release on February 14th. Along with the start of the new season, a special event dedicated to the 4th anniversary of the battle royale with special rewards will begin in the game.
