Samsung Becomes Snapdragon Pro Series Sponsor
The South Korean technology corporation Samsung has become the presentation sponsor of the Snapdragon Pro Series mobile esports tournament series, created by Qualcomm Technologies and ESL FACEIT Group. As part of the deal, players participating in the Mobile Challenge and Mobile Masters will use smartphones from Samsung.
Stephanie Choi, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Marketing at Samsung said, "We are committed to bringing Snapdragon-powered high-performance Samsung Galaxy devices into the hands of billions of gamers around the world to promote both camaraderie and competition. This is an announcement as an Official Partner Snapdragon Pro series of smartphones, deepens our existing collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies and is an important next step in our quest to advance mobile technology in the eSports world."
The agreement takes effect from the moment the Mobile Challenge Finals starts, which will be held as part of the DreamHack Valencia 2022 festival from December 9 to 11. Using the Samsung Galaxy line of devices, teams will compete in League of Legends: Wild Rift and Brawl Stars for a chance to win prizes of $38,000 and $30,000 respectively.
Note that the Snapdragon Pro Series also hosts Mobile Legends championships: Bang Bang, Free Fire, Asphalt Legends 9 and Clash Royale.
Samsung is no stranger to supporting esports beginnings. Previously, the corporation signed a partnership agreement with Tribe Gaming and developed a mobile application for Samsung devices jointly with ONE Esports. In addition, the company expanded its deal with Guild Esports.
