Gen.G Esports partners with Mobil 1

Multinational esports organization Gen.G Esports has announced a partnership deal with synthetic motor oil brand Mobil 1. As part of the deal, the club introduced two rosters (men's and women's) in the Rocket League discipline.

The agreement between Mobil 1 and Gen.G Esports reportedly marks a different kind of relationship between the consumer-focused brand and the esports team, which has long-standing sponsorship deals with local brands from the industry world.

Arnold Huhr, Gen.G Esports CEO: "It's sort of a new model for esports. We're actively helping the brand build a team. They're very interested in working with us on new rosters. It's kind of a real joint venture and a longer-term collaboration. Racing division Mobil 1 has been a sponsor of traditional racing for a long time, but the brand wanted to dive deeper into esports racing."

In keeping with both organizations' commitment to gender equality, the women's Rocket League team will be named Gen.G Mobil 1 Racing Black and compete in the Women's Carball Championship. In turn, the men's roster, named Gen.G Mobil1 Racing, will begin preparations for the RLCS 2022-23 - Fall: North America Regional 1 - Fall Open.

Ryan Allen, Brands & Partnerships Manager at ExxonMobil North America: "We have a long relationship with the Rocket League that goes back to the first season of the RLCS. We have a long history of success in motorsport and we look forward to having our Rocket League teams fill up. it's a legacy."

Gen.G Esports is currently partnering with partners such as LG UltraGear, Monster Energy, ROCCAT, Bithumb, SIDIZ, and Crocs. In addition, most recently multinational esports organization Gen.G Esports announced an expanded partnership with sportswear brand PUMA, as well as a fresh deal with American audio maker Bose.

In addition to the Rocket League, the club is also represented in the League of Legends, Overwatch, NBA 2K League, VALORANT and PUBG disciplines, representing different regions (from Asia to North America).
