Guild Esports partners with Sky UK
British esports organization Guild Esports has announced a partnership agreement with media and entertainment company Sky UK. The deal is said to be one of the largest esports sponsorship programs ever signed on European soil.
The partnership includes exclusive naming rights to the organization's facility in Shoreditch. In addition, as part of the agreement, Guild Esports will also create a women's Rocket League team.
The headquarters of the Guild with an area of more than 9500 square meters. ft., which officially opened earlier this year, will now be known as the Sky Guild Game Center. As a result, the facility will be equipped with Sky broadband and Wi-Fi, while the Sky brand will be featured throughout its interior and exterior.
Cal Hurd, Chief Executive of Guild Esports: "We are incredibly proud to welcome Sky, the media, entertainment and communications hub, to the esports sector. We believe this partnership will enable Guild Esports to achieve the highest level of performance in top tier esports across four disciplines, in whom we field our professional players, as well as to become a global leader in coaching and performance."
Sky becomes Guild Esports' eighth partner, joining brands such as Subway, HyperX, Samsung and Coca-Cola, among others. In turn, this is the first entry into the eSports markets for Sky.
The partnership will reportedly be centered around three core commitments: providing more opportunities for women in esports, improving the performance of esports and developing coaching, and hosting esports competitions for Sky's VIP clients.
