European esports organization G2 Esports has announced the appointment of Irina Shames as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and Philippe Adam as Chief Financial Officer. In addition, former general manager Alban Deschelotte was promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO).
As the new Chief Revenue Officer, Shames will be responsible for all aspects of global commercial growth at G2 Esports, with a focus on the organization's expansion in North America. It will also focus on monetizing gaming offerings and esports, which the organization cites as its key entertainment pillars.
Shames has extensive experience in content, media, entertainment and revenue generation, having held various roles at media conglomerates such as Viacom and CNN International.
Carlos Rodriguez, CEO of G2 Esports: "I am very proud to have Irina and Philippe join our business and delighted that Alban will take on the position of COO. Irina, Philippe and Alban will now form what I consider to be the most impressive management team ever in the world of esports.
Joining the company as CFO, Adam will lead the G2 Esports Control, Finance, Human Resources and Legal teams responsible for leading the company's financial strategy, planning and analysis.
Prior to joining G2 Esports, Adam was an investment specialist at Oak Hill Capital Partners and Deva Capital in New York. He has worked closely with the senior management of his firms' portfolio companies to drive and execute strategic, financial, acquisition and operational initiatives.
The two new hires have been boosted by the internal promotion of Deschelotte - previously General Manager of G2 Esports - to the position of Chief Operating Officer. The organization said that in his new role, Dechelotte will work closely with CEO Carlos Rodriguez.
