Alban Deschelotte becomes the new CEO of G2 Esports

European esports organization G2 Esports has announced the appointment of Alban Deschelotte as its new CEO. The Frenchman has already worked in his role for some time and, as the club notes, he managed to bring the first big trophy in the CS:GO discipline in six years as a “samurai”. In addition, the organization introduced Sabrina Ratich as the new COO and Philip Adam as the new CFO.

G2 Esports is a truly unique esports organization that consistently pushes the boundaries in competition and entertainment. Our legacy is rich in a combination of unforgettable endings and compelling stories that take the world by storm. I am honored to serve the army of our fans, players, content creators and staff on this mission to unleash the potential of G2 Esports to compete for all trophies and beyond.

Alban Deschelotte joined the G2 Esports organization in the summer of 2021, becoming the club's general manager. Prior to joining G2 Esports, he was Head of Partnerships and Business Development at Riot Games Europe. In addition, Deschelotte has held positions at The Coca-Cola Company as well as Havas Sports and Entertainment France. The Frenchman is credited with bringing brands like KitKat and KIA into the esports sector during his time at Riot Games.

I have always been very attached to G2 Esports since we started working for the company in 2018. Since then, everyone at G2 Esports has always maintained the same huge ambition, drive and high performance that still fuels the company to this day. It's incredibly rewarding to see how we continue to develop and expand our global audience beyond the parameters of esports, create new digital touchpoints, and use our entertainment verticals as a multiplier. I am excited about this new challenge and look forward to our next period of growth with the entire G2 Esports team.

Recall that last fall, Carlos Rodriguez, the former CEO of G2 Esports, left the organization after the Andrew Tate scandal and criticism from the community.
