BLAST Premier partners with Maersk
The BLAST Premier tournament series has announced a partnership agreement with the Danish logistics company AP Moller - Maersk. As part of the cooperation, the company will sponsor events under the auspices of BLAST Premier throughout 2022. Recall that last year the parties cooperated during the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2021.
BLAST Premier and AP Moller-Maersk are reportedly committed to using this partnership to bring fans closer to esports through integrated digital campaigns, as well as the introduction of MVPs and new broadcast segments.
Oliver Clark, BLAST Commercial Director: "We are excited to welcome the return of a respected and global brand like Maersk. By focusing on the personal and digital experience for fans to engage the Counter-Strike community, we hope to build on last year's Fall Final Copenhagen's popular MVP segment. Bringing a non-endemic brand like Maersk on board is a testament to how partners outside of the gaming and esports space equate to teaming up with BLAST Premier."
As part of the deal, AP Moller - Maersk branding will appear on BLAST Premier's digital and physical assets, including the remaining six events of the season: Spring Showdown (April 27 - May 5) and Spring Final (June 15-19), Fall Groups (August 19-28), Fall Showdown (October 19-23), Fall Final (November 23-27) and World Finals (December 14-18).
Samuel Poulter, Head of Corporate Branding at AP Moller-Maersk: "We are proud to be a BLAST sponsor for the second year in a row. We chose to sponsor an MVP to recognize the tremendous skill and tactical intelligence required in the sport and to engage with fans who are really passionate about their teams and players."
The partnership will include the MVP award, which will reward the best player in each tournament with a special Maersk MVP trophy. At the end of each tournament, a short list of players will be selected and the winner will be selected by community vote.
