Electronic Arts banned players from Russia and Belarus from participating in Apex Legends and FIFA 22 tournaments

Electronic Arts has made changes to the rules for tournaments in Apex Legends and FIFA 22 disciplines. According to updated information, players from Russia and Belarus are prohibited from participating in championship games developed and published by Electronic Arts. From now on, Russian and Belarusian players are no longer eligible to participate in the Apex Legends Global Series and EA Sports FIFA 22 Global Series tournaments. How long the ban will last is unknown.

We remain shocked by the conflict unfolding in Ukraine and join the many voices around the world calling for peace and an end to the invasion. We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine.

We have decided to exclude Russia and Belarus from our eSports programs. From now on, players and teams from Russia and Belarus are not eligible to participate in the Apex Legends Global Series and EA Sports Fifa 22 Global Series.

Recall that earlier EA Sports announced the exclusion of the national teams of Russia and Russian clubs from sports simulators FIFA 22 and NHL 22.

Ubisoft did the same. From now on, teams from Russia will not be able to participate in major Rainbow Six Siege tournaments, including the Russian Major League tournament. Players will be able to continue to compete in regional and international tournaments, but only under a neutral flag if they decide to do so.
