Compendium 2025 Might Introduce a New HUD, Say Data Miners

The upcoming Dota 2 Compendium 2025 could include a brand-new HUD (Heads-Up Display) — at least, that’s what recent findings from data miners suggest following the latest update from Valve.

This discovery was reported by the data mining community via the Telegram channel Fay.

“There’s something interesting — possibly even a bit far-fetched — in the latest changes. Valve modified files related to interface styles. These styles are split into two categories: HUDs from before the Reborn engine update, and HUDs after Reborn (the latter also include all HUDs from previous Compendiums). Only the post-Reborn HUDs were affected. So, either it’s a coincidence tied to file optimization — which is more likely — or it’s a subtle hint that a new HUD is coming in the 2025 Compendium,” one miner explained.

Code Points to Cosmetic HUD Changes

According to the miner, the updated lines of code specifically pertain to HUDs that were previously awarded through Compendiums — a clue that a new cosmetic HUD may be in development as a reward for the 2025 edition.

However, he also cautioned that there's currently no hard evidence to confirm Valve’s intentions. The adjustments might simply reflect internal optimizations with no direct impact on upcoming content.

Hints of Compendium 2025 Are Growing

Despite the uncertainty, mounting indirect clues suggest that Compendium 2025 is indeed in the works. Given that HUDs were among the very few cosmetic rewards offered in the last two Compendiums, the introduction of a new HUD this year appears increasingly plausible.
