Valve announced seasonal leagues and announced the dates of majors
Valve has announced the format for the next Dota 2 season - as rumored to be, the developers went through the League of Legends system and created regional leagues. In total, three seasons with a duration of six weeks will pass, and the championship of the "major" series will be considered the end of the season.
Leagues will be held immediately in all six regions at the same time and on a strict schedule, which can be found below:
In each region, each league season will have a prize pool of $ 280,000, and the participants of the upcoming major will be determined by its results. Detailed distribution of the prize fund:
In order for the team to be able to participate in a certain region, just three team representatives must live in the area in which they compete.
Majors
Special attention now deserves the majors, which now will be only three in a season. It will be possible to get to this event exclusively through the league and there are no open qualifications for it. It is also worth noting that the teams that took the first lines in their divisions fall directly into the playoffs of major tournaments. By the way, minors completely disappeared as unnecessary.
The prize pool of each of the majors will consist of $ 500,000 and 2700 Dota Pro Circuit points, which will be necessary for a direct hit on The International 2021.
