The esportsman from Bosnia and Herzegovina gave an interview for the HLTV portal. In it, he shared several details of his recent CS: GO career. He told about how it was for him to bear the burden of the captain, how he decided to move to G2 and so on.

According to the above, NiKo had some difficult times during his time in FaZe Clan as the in-game leader:

“Whatever we did, I was the one to be blamed[by the community]for every game that we lost, it was because of me, that I called bad... No one really knew the inside picture, what was happening inside of the team."

It's no secret that Nikola's ability to play alongside her cousin on the team is a great motivator for the transfer. Here's what he said about this:

"Obviously, the biggest motivation for this move was huNter. If huNter wasn't in G2, I probably wouldn't have joined them. He was the biggest reason. If I was ever to leave FaZe, I would always try to join the team he's playing for, so that's the clear decision, I think everyone already knows that."

NiKo didn't want to leave FaZe Clan for a long time. The desire appeared after repeated attempts to change something inside on his part.

"Firstly, I wanted to change some things within the team, but we didn't really get what we wanted. There were a couple of reports regarding ALEX, which was my priority before leaving FaZe. I wanted to get an IGL in the team, but that deal didn't go through, which I was really not happy with."

On October 28, information appeared about NiKo's transfer to the ranks of G2 Esports. The announcement took place via a video of G2 being kidnapped by Nicola Kovacs and greeted at the training base by his cousin Nemanja 'huNter-' Kovacs.

It is not yet known exactly who NiKo will replace in the starting roster. The updated roster will make its debut in today's BLAST Premier Fall Series 2020 match, where the Europeans will face FURIA Esports.

G2 Esports roster:

  • Nemanja 'nexa' Isakovic
  • Francois 'AmaNEk' Delaunay
  • Kenny 'kennyS' Shrub
  • Nemanja 'huNter-' Kovacs
  • Audric 'JACKZ' Zyug
  • Nikola 'NiKo' Kovacs
