G2 Part Ways with SunPayus, Sign Ukrainian AWPer r1nkle

G2 Esports have announced a roster change to their Counter-Strike 2 lineup. Spanish sniper Álvaro "SunPayus" García has left the team, with Ukrainian player Artem "r1nkle" Moroz brought in as his replacement. The organization confirmed the move on their X page.

SunPayus joined G2 in June 2025 alongside coach sAw amid a major rebuild of the team's roster. Over the course of a year with the German organization, the Spanish AWPer played 215 maps, posting an ADR of 68.9, a KAST of 74.7%, and a rating of 1.05.

The standout result of his G2 tenure was the team's title run at BLAST Open Fall 2025, where G2 stunned Vitality with a 3-2 victory. However, the squad failed to back that up with another strong result afterward. At the recent IEM Cologne Major 2026, G2 reached the playoffs but were eliminated in a 5-8th place finish following a loss to Spirit.

r1nkle steps in as the new sniper

Taking over the AWP role for G2 is Artem "r1nkle" Moroz, who arrives from Ninjas in Pyjamas. The Ukrainian spent a substantial stretch with the Swedish organization, having joined the roster in April 2024.

During his time at NiP, the team competed in several Tier-1 events but were unable to break through for a major title. Among their notable results:

• 2nd place at YaLLa Compass 2024
• 5-8th place at PGL Astana 2025
• 9-12th place at IEM Cologne 2025

NiP's only title in that span came at the Roman Imperium Cup VI this past March.

Across his time with NiP, r1nkle played 415 maps, recording solid numbers: ADR of 76.5, KAST of 73.2%, and a rating of 1.10.

G2's new lineup

Following the shuffle, G2's roster now looks like this:

The revamped lineup's first test will come at the BLAST Bounty Summer Qual, scheduled to take place from July 21 to 26, where the new-look G2 will look to build chemistry quickly and kick off this fresh chapter on the right foot.
