Four-time Major champion Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander officially retires from professional play
One of the most influential in-game leaders in Counter-Strike history, Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander, has announced his retirement from professional play. The news came from his official X page, where he shared his decision to end his 15-year career on the competitive stage.
The Danish IGL became a legend thanks to his dominant run with Astralis from 2016 to 2019, during which the team established one of the most successful eras in CS history. With Astralis, gla1ve won four Majors — ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017, FACEIT Major: London 2018, IEM Katowice 2019, and StarLadder Berlin Major 2019 — becoming the first CS:GO captain to achieve such a feat. The team also secured the Intel Grand Slam Season 1, earning a $1 million prize.
Throughout his career, gla1ve earned over $1.95 million, including $1.853 million during his time with Astralis. He remains one of the most decorated Danish and global IGLs, having shaped an entire era of CS:GO.
After parting ways with Astralis in 2023, Rossander joined ENCE as their in-game leader, though without notable international success.
In his announcement, gla1ve also stated that he is ready to begin a new chapter in his career as a coach, hoping to pass on his extensive experience to the next generation of players.
