Former Gaimin Gladiators Players File Lawsuit Against Organization

A group of former Gaimin Gladiators players, including Danish esports professional Frederik “roeJ” Jørgensen, have announced their decision to take legal action against the organization over wrongful contract termination. The dispute stems from the organization’s decision to release benched players, allegedly to avoid paying their wages.

Contract Dispute and Allegations

Gaimin Gladiators cited a contract clause as justification for the terminations, claiming that the players failed to meet certain obligations, such as regular content creation. However, roeJ argues that the organization did not follow proper procedures, such as issuing formal notifications or allowing time for the players to remedy the alleged violations.

Legal Support and Case Progress

The affected players have secured legal representation in Canada, where Gaimin Gladiators is based. The legal team consists of esports law specialists, and the lawsuit costs are being shared among all plaintiffs.

Alongside roeJ, fellow Danish ex-Gaimin Gladiators players, including Niko “nicoodoz” Tamm Jensen, as well as other benched teammates, have joined the case. In total, seven players and one coach are involved in the legal battle.

Community Backlash and Organizational Silence

The lawsuit has sparked widespread debate within the esports community, with many players and industry figures criticizing Gaimin Gladiators’ actions as unlawful. The former team members remain committed to defending their contractual rights, emphasizing the need for legal protection in the esports industry.

As of now, Gaimin Gladiators has not issued an official response regarding the lawsuit. With the case gaining traction, it is shaping up to be one of the most high-profile legal disputes in esports this year.
