k0nfig became a Ninjas in Pajamas player

The Swedish esports organization Ninjas in Pajamas has announced changes to its CS:GO roster by signing a contract with k0nfig. The 25-year-old Dane joins the team as a free agent and will make his debut at the upcoming Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2023. In an official statement, the club revealed that k0nfig will take a place in the hampus roster, who is out indefinitely due to personal reasons.

You all already know that we take the health of our players very seriously. When we do a good job, our players know it too, and there is a mutual trust that allows us to quickly spot and fix problems.

You also no doubt know that we always protect the privacy of our players in such matters, so this part of the announcement will be very brief. hampus has spent the last few days consulting with our CEO and medical staff and we have agreed that he needs a career break. We have concluded that in order for him to have the time and space he needs to recover, hampus will spend the rest of the spring season with our full support.

Consistency is the most important factor in building a winning team and once we knew the situation we decided to look for a long term solution that would allow hampus to take their time.

So: we welcome the new Ninja! k0nfig joins the roster immediately and will wear our jersey for the first time on February 1, as part of the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2023.

k0nfig spent last season with Astralis. Here, the 25-year-old Dane made it to the top three at BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2021, BLAST Premier: Spring European Showdown 2022, Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022, Roobet Cup 2022 and Intel Extreme Masters XVII - Cologne. However, after a series of scandals, the player left the Danish club, becoming a free agent. At the end of the season, k0nfig managed to play at BLAST Premier: World Final 2022, where Heroic helped replace stavn.

However, at the start of the new season, the Dane failed to get to BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2023, as the organizers banned FaZe Clan from making an emergency substitution at the very last moment.

In turn, hampus has been part of Ninjas in Pajamas since May 2020. During this time, the 24-year-old Swede managed to win Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Fall: Europe and Svenska Cupen 2022, as well as reach the finals of Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Winter. However, during the current BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2023 draw, the esportsman decided to leave the team for personal reasons. As it turns out now, the esportsman burned out due to exhausting training and a busy schedule, deciding to put his career on pause.

It is noteworthy that this is not the first such case in the history of the Swedish organization. At the end of 2021, for similar reasons, the Ninjas in Pajamas line-up left dev1ce, who, after a year-long absence, left the club and returned to the Astralis camp.

The team is currently playing at BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2023, where they are preparing for the first round match of the Play-In stage against Astralis. k0nfig's debut for Ninjas in Pajamas will take place next week at Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2023, where djL's team will play against MIBR.
