BLAST apologized to FaZe Clan for the confusion with the roster application
The Danish tournament operator BLAST apologized to the FaZe Clan team for the inconvenience caused by the confusion with the roster application for BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023. In their appeal, the organizers thanked the club for resolving the problem together.
We want to acknowledge the confusion surrounding the rosterlock at the start of the 2023 season. At the beginning of the year, FaZe Clan introduced roster changes for BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 due to personal reasons. FaZe Clan requested the use of k0nfig, but the request was denied because the player was registered as part of another team for the event. There was confusion in the process as to whether this subsequent request for an emergency replacement was formally accepted and validated by BLAST.
After reviewing the incident internally, we have identified a misunderstanding and lack of clarity on the part of BLAST regarding the timing of the rosterlock and k0nfig's eligibility to play at BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023. Of course, this is not how we operate and we will be looking at process strengthening and interaction with teams, especially in relation to the rosterlock.
As a result, FaZe Clan's request was approved: es3tag was declared as a substitute player, and Eddie as a substitute coach.
BLAST also clarified that FaZe Clan will not be able to count on es3tag if the team has to face Ninjas in Pajamas. Since the Dane is still bound by a contract with the Swedish organization, FaZe Clan will have to be launched on the RobbaN or Eddie server.
Recall that initially FaZe Clan planned to invite k0nfig to the roster. However, after protests from other competitors, the organizers banned the emergency substitution, citing a set of rules. As a result, FaZe Clan had to look for another option, settling on es3tag.
FaZe Clan roster for the upcoming BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023:
- Broky
- Twistzz
- carrigan
- ropz
- es3tag (stand-in)
