FaZe Clan Announces Creation of CS2 Academy Roster

One of the most renowned esports organizations in the world — FaZe Clan — has officially confirmed the creation of an academy roster in Counter-Strike 2. Detailed information about the players and the team's format has not yet been disclosed, but the announcement itself signals the organization's serious commitment to developing young talent.

FaZe Clan is an American organization founded in 2010 and the first international team to win a CS:GO Major championship, claiming the title at PGL Major Antwerp 2022. That legendary lineup — featuring karrigan, ropz, Twistzz, broky, and rain — was long considered one of the strongest in the world.

Throughout their history, FaZe have played over 1,100 matches with approximately 650 victories, claimed 31 first-place finishes, and repeatedly reached the finals and podiums of the most prestigious tournaments in the scene.

However, the start of 2026 has been a difficult period for the team. Karrigan himself described it as the lowest point of his career after FaZe failed to qualify for IEM Cologne Major 2026. At BLAST Open Rotterdam in March 2026, the team finished in a disappointing 13th–16th place. In March, the organization also parted ways with head coach NEO, with analyst GruBy stepping in as interim replacement.
