fnatic disbands youth CS:GO roster
The British esports organization fnatic announced the parting with its youth team in the CS:GO discipline. In a statement, the club noted that it needs to rethink its academy program while all players are leaving fnatic Rising as free agents.
Wrapping up last year, we have also seen great success with our Fnatic Rising roster, our academic team where we aim to level up the youngest talent and geeks in the game using our world class hardware and high performance division. The team saw an important moment in the victory at WePlay Academy League Season 5, as well as in other league seasons and, in addition, in small tournaments. Since our main goal is to take the team to a professional level, we are pleased to see many team members moving to the main teams.
With that said, we will be suspending Fnatic Rising as these players graduate and their contracts expire. The entire team will become free agents who will be allowed to explore new opportunities and we wish them all the best in the next stages of their careers as well as thank them for their time in black and orange. The suspension of the roster may come as a surprise, but we want to take the time to best consider our place in the youth program in order to bring maximum benefit to both the players who participate in the program and the overall strategy of Fnatic. We are immensely proud of this program and have proved its success time and time again, and will provide new updates when we have them.
Huge thanks to WolfY, Maze, Volt, Banjo and Peppzor for representing us so well last year, and also thanks to all the players who have played and have now completed the Rising program.
The latest iteration of fnatic Rising was put together last summer. In six months, the European team became the winner of TippmixPro Masters 2022 and WePlay Academy League Season 5, and also took second place in MistGames Heroes of Tomorrow Fall 2022. In addition, the team managed to break into the ESL Challenger League, one of the stages of the ESL Pro League series.
In addition, fnatic highlighted the success of the first team to extend contracts until the end of 2023 with coach keita and roster director Samuelsson.
The latest fnatic Rising CS:GO roster:
