ALEX leaves fnatic and puts his career on pause

British player ALEX has announced his departure from the fnatic team. The 27-year-old esportsman spoke about this on his Twitter, adding that he would take a break in his career and try to solve his health problems. Recall that ALEX has spent the last five months inactive, unable to find a new team.

Hey guys, small update on my part. I decided not to join another team after fnatic due to worsening stomach problems that I have been living with for several years now. Now I have decided to take a break to focus on getting better instead of living with problems.

Since I couldn't fulfill my duties as a professional player and fnatic couldn't sell me because of them, we parted ways by mutual agreement, they were very supportive when I told them what was going on and I'm grateful to them for that. At the moment I have and will continue to take a break.

I am also retiring from social media in order to continue to heal both physically and mentally. Thank you all for your support, thank you to fnatic for your understanding and good luck at the Major!

For the avoidance of doubt: the contract was canceled some time ago, it did not happen today, and I am not writing now because I will soon join the team: I will not join the team for a while.

ALEX joined fnatic in August last year. Together with the team, the 27-year-old Briton became the winner of DreamHack Open November 2021 and REPUBLEAGUE Season 2, and also took part in Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Winter and Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Katowice.

Nevertheless, after the team's failure in the RMR cycle on the eve of PGL Major Antwerp 2022 and missing out on Intel Extreme Masters XVII - Dallas, the club announced the transfer of the esports player to inactive. Since then, the British organization has seriously updated its roster, and has also managed to qualify for the Intel Extreme Masters Rio Major 2022.

Current fnatic CS:GO roster:

  • KRIMZ
  • mezii
  • nicoodoz
  • roeJ
  • FASHR
  • keita (coach)
