Rumors: G2 Esports intends to part ways with XTQZZZ
According to an authoritative insider neL, the European esports organization G2 Esports has decided to part ways with their coach XTQZZZ. It is reported that the reason for the imminent departure of the 33-year-old French specialist is the failure of the team at the recent Intel Extreme Masters Road to Rio 2022: European RMR A.
XTQZZZ took over the leadership of G2 Esports at the beginning of the current season, having moved from Team Vitality. Together with the team, the 33-year-old French specialist made it to the top three at Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Katowice, BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022 and ESL Pro League Season 16.
Nevertheless, in general, the season for the European team was unsuccessful. At first, the team did not make it to the playoffs of PGL Major Antwerp 2022 and Intel Extreme Masters XVII - Cologne, after which they completely failed at Intel Extreme Masters Road to Rio 2022: European RMR A, being left without a major.
In parallel, G2 Esports tried to rebuild the roster during the season, signing HooXi and jks to replace Aleksib and JACKZ, respectively. At the same time, the future of XTQZZZ in the team hung in the balance in the summer, but in the end the organization decided to keep the specialist.
Whether this is an organizational choice after recent results, a coach with little control over decisions, or a general agreement with XTQZZZ himself is not yet clear. It is also unknown if other roster changes will be planned with the arrival of the new coach.
Current G2 Esports CS:GO roster:
- huNter-
- NiKo
- m0NESY
- jks
- HooXi
- XTQZZZ (coach)
