k0nfig officially confirms nightclub brawl in Malta

k0nfig, now a former Astralis player, has officially confirmed the brawl at a nightclub in Malta. The 25-year-old Dane spoke about the incident on his personal Twitter page. According to an unconfirmed version, it was this incident that caused the e-sportsman to leave the organization ahead of schedule.

It was the night after the loss to Heroic. It was hard for us. We tried very hard to improve the results, but we did not succeed and we were going to leave Malta. We wanted to take a break and go somewhere fun, we just wanted to enjoy our last night on the island.

After a few bars, we decided to stop by the Paceville club. I was hungry, so I went to get food by myself. I went up the stairs and asked the guy who seemed to be in charge if I could join my friends and explained that they were already inside. Instead of just saying no, he scorned my tattoos and said it was "his fucking club" and I was a "tattooed bum" and he wouldn't let me in unless I paid 5,000 euros for the table. I told him that he was a loser for standing in line at a nightclub and feeling better than everyone else.

Suddenly, he spat in my face and kicked it. He was standing next to me, so it was like kicking a soccer ball. I fell down the stairs and sprained my leg.

I sat on the sidewalk outside the club in complete shock and tried to figure out what had happened. Suddenly, I suddenly saw the same promoter leaving in a hurry. I felt angry so I caught up with him to talk. I am terribly sorry about this. I had to leave. I should have just gone home, then nothing would have happened. When I caught up with him, I said that I would report to the police. He immediately spat at me again and began to insult me, which made me furious. We got into a fight, he broke my leg and I fell to the ground. While I was lying, he kicked me several times on the head. I tried to leave, but I couldn't because of the fracture.

I was very scared. I thought I would die soon. I remember feeling like I was looking at my own body from above, lying there. The promoter stole my phone, but luckily someone called an ambulance and I was taken to a Maltese hospital.

After what happened, I plunged into darkness. I felt sad, angry, frustrated, afraid and anxious all at the same time. The whole time I was in the hospital, I cried. I cried every day, several times. I felt like I was alone in the whole world. Nothing could make me smile. Nothing. I just felt that emotions had died.

Recall that a few hours earlier, the Astralis organization announced the breakup with k0nfig. During the eleven months spent at the club, the 25-year-old Dane helped the team get into the TOP-3 at BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2021, BLAST Premier: Spring European Showdown 2022, Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022, Roobet Cup 2022 and Intel Extreme Masters XVII - Cologne.
