Karmine Corp organization may expand to CS:GO
According to Kamel Kebir, president of Karmine Corp, the French esports organization is considering expanding into the CS:GO discipline. According to the head of the club, a potential entry to the new stage is being considered ahead of the BLAST Paris Major 2023.
CS is the real topic of our discussions today. This is being considered, I myself said this on the stream. We are discussing this within the organization to see if we take this step in the future. Now we have a lot to do. After them, we will have a lot of time to take a breath, think and decide whether Karmine Corp will come to CS, how it will happen and with whom. Before I potentially get into a game I'm interested in, I try to watch the scene a lot to understand what the stakes are, what's important, what the audience cares about, and what would make me want to watch, like Karmine Corp in CS.
According to Kebir, the organization has two possible paths: a project with scene veterans, like the one that FalleN created at the beginning of the year, or a young and promising team that will develop over time.
Over the past two years, Karmine Corp has become one of the fastest growing and most popular esports organizations in Europe, with sold-out events in France, new player signings and record viewership.
In June, Accorhotels Arena in Paris hosted KCX 2, the third event hosted by eSports club Karmine Corp. The event attracted a huge number of viewers both at the venue and on the broadcast of Kamel Kebir, a popular French streamer and owner of the organization. On a weekday, the event was attended by more than 12 thousand people, and tickets for it were sold out in less than a day.
During the event, Karmine Corp's VALORANT roster took on Team Vitality at VRL 2022 France: Revolution Stage 2, while the League of Legends roster took on Misfits Premier at LFL Summer 2022.
The importance of the organization to the esports ecosystem was appreciated by Riot Games, as in the middle of the week Karmine Corp was among the publisher's partners for the European VALORANT League.
The possible entry of Karmine Corp into CS:GO before BLAST Paris Major 2023 could be a serious impetus for the popularization of the discipline in France, where today only Vitality can be singled out as the only guide to world heights. Given the popularity of the club in the region, one can only guess at the number of fans that France will gain with this decision.
In early September, the tournament operator BLAST officially confirmed the information about the holding of the first Major of 2023.
BLAST Paris Major 2023 will take place from May 8 to May 21, 2023, offering participants a total prize pool of $1,250,000.
