Imperial Esports to pay brutt R$400,000 to family

Information has appeared on the Internet regarding the case of the death of ex-player of Imperial Esports, Matheus 'brutt' Queiroz. In the 69th Employment Court in the city of São Paulo, Patricia Almeida Ramos, the judge in charge of the death of Matheus Queiroz, concluded that Imperial Esports representatives "indirectly contributed" to the death of a young player in 2019.

3 years ago Matheus 'Brutt' Queiroz passed away at the age of 19. Judge Almeida Ramos concluded that Imperial Esports was partially to blame for Brutt's death, as the club failed to fulfill its legal obligations to the esportsman. The judge's sentence is 80 pages long. Before sentencing, the judge analyzed all the records and relatives of Brutta, who filed two lawsuits against Imperial Esports two years ago.

Imperial is also not going to sit idly by and will appeal to the second instance. The club's management wants to "restore justice", and Imperial lawyer Jose Augusto Rodriguez Jr. claims that the club still performed its duties exactly as expected. According to him, the esportsman provided services to representatives of Imperial Esports for forty days, which means that it would be extremely unreasonable to call the company responsible for his death.

The judge believes that Imperial should pay compensation because the organization failed to provide a “healthy, safe and comfortable” working environment for Brutte, and legal and contractual obligations to the player were not fully met. Almeida Ramos honestly noted that Brute's relatives cannot be spared the suffering caused by the death of Matheus Queiroz, but work can be done to prevent such cases in the field of esports and in Imperial Esports in particular. The judge ordered Imperial Esports to pay compensation in the amount of R$100,000 to each of the persons who filed the lawsuit: the victim's parents and her two brothers. The amount of the fine will be R$400,000, which is equivalent to $73,875 in US dollars.
