FalleN talks about the future of his career
With the support of ESL, a press conference was held, in which two Imperial Esports players Fernando 'fer' Alvarenga and Gabriel 'FalleN' Toledo spoke. They gave their comments on some questions about age. For example, fer does not see any problems at all with the fact that cybersportsmen are aging. He believes that the main problem in their career is a change in priorities, and not the loss of mechanical data and the deterioration of response:
In my opinion, age is not a problem. I think that in Counter-Strike, in this issue of age, the problem is that when you get older, you want to do something else in life, have a child, spend more time with your girlfriend, wife.
I think this matters the most. That's why I think that people at the age of 31 or 32 slow down, they even stop playing. It's a matter of priorities. I don't think age is a problem or it affects your performance.
When asked how he feels about CS:GO, FalleN said that this game is not just a game.
Good question, I'm in the same situation right now. I've played Counter-Strike all my life. This is my passion, I have been playing since I was 13 years old. My whole life was dedicated to Counter-Strike
Gabriel Toledo also talked about his relationship with his girlfriend and the value CS:GO has for him in life. According to FalleN, even living with a girl, Gabriel has to distance himself from her to some extent and play Counter-Strike to keep fit:
I've been in a relationship for about 11 years, mostly long distance. We started living together in 2019 and the goal was to spend more time together, but Counter-Strike is hard, we spend more time apart even while living. together.
As for age, there was another interesting thought about reflexes and experience:
As already mentioned, if you make the game your passion, age does not affect you much. You may not have that reflex, but on the other hand, you have more experience. We showed it at the Major against Cloud9. a very young and talented team and we beat them convincingly in an important LAN game. This is something you will learn over time.
FalleN summed up his future in CS:GO career. So far, he does not intend to stop there and wants to compete at the highest level for another year and a half:
I want to play for another year and a half, maybe even more. Then I want to do other things in life, maybe even involving CS, but I also want to enjoy other things.
