Richard Lewis spoke about the situation around Stewie2K
British journalist Richard Lewis released a video on his YouTube channel in which he criticized Stewie2K, who is the captain of the Evil Geniuses team. The subject of criticism was the disagreement in the words and actions of an esportsman who creates too much negative background around himself.
I feel sorry for Stewie2K. For some reason he thinks that he understands CS better than anyone. We know this from his words and behavior. He is confident that he understands the game at such a high theoretical level that anyone who is not able to understand this and do the same in game situations immediately becomes a bad player. During the stream, he constantly said how much he loves to win and strives for this. Man, lately we've only seen defeats followed by kicks from a good European coach. Something is wrong here. Are you going to change something? I think not. It's probably better to go spend your free time playing VALORANT, right? I really want to win, but I play sixteen VALORANT matches a day and will not listen to the coach. If I were the owner of an organization where there is such a player, I would fire him immediately.
Now Stewie2K, along with Evil Geniuses, is at the stage where they refuse to participate in tournaments. They were supposed to go to a LAN event from Pinnacle, but instead they sent the Party Astronauts lineup there. I really want to win, but I will miss tournaments. No one who really wants to win will say that.
Recall that the day before, information appeared about the possible transition of Stewie2K to VALORANT. A leaked conversation between Stewie2K and Wardell has fueled speculation about the former's possible move into a tactical shooter from Riot Games. The messages came out during a broadcast from Wardell and seem to show Stewie2K discussing their options in VALORANT.
In addition, the 24-year-old American esportsman got into a scandal caused by the resignation of maLeK from the post of head coach of Evil Geniuses. In a recent interview, EVY criticized the captain of the team for his lack of professionalism and inappropriate attitude towards training and official matches.
Recall that Stewie2K appeared on the scene back in 2015. During this time, the 24-year-old American esportsman became the winner of ESL Pro League Season 4 - Finals, ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018, ZOTAC Cup Masters 2018, DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019 and Intel Extreme Masters XIV - Chicago.
