
Are Valve planning to switch CS:GO to Source 2 in the near future?
Rumors about the transition of CS:GO to the Source 2 engine have been around for a long time. Various insiders and dataminers are trying to piece together the pieces of information that are available to find out when Valve 's shooter can switch to a more advanced version of the existing engine.
This time, new interesting details regarding Source 2 appeared on the Gabe Follower Twitter account. The aforementioned CS:GO fan took a screenshot, in which lines of code can be seen that can refer to Source 2 functions in CS:GO and establish a connection between the shooter and the updated engine.

The screenshot is about using the in-game camera. There are exactly the same lines of code in the Source 2 engine for Dota 2. For this reason, the community believes that Valve continues to work on porting CS:GO to the new engine.
