Gambit Esports players will play at ESL Pro League Season 15 under a neutral status
The Russian esports organization Gambit Esports has issued an official statement allowing its CS:GO players to take part in ESL Pro League Season 15 under a neutral status.
The Gambit Esports organization has been excluded from the ESL Pro League Season 15, which runs from March 9 to April 10 in Dusseldorf. Our players are allowed to play in the tournament in neutral status and we as an organization will not oppose such an opportunity: the players with the coaching and management team have made great efforts to ensure their eligibility.
We thank all our fans for their continued support.
Recall that earlier ESL suspended the Virtus.pro and Gambit Esports teams from participating in their tournaments, including the upcoming ESL Pro League Season 15. The tournament operator explained his decision by the fact that the organizations are somehow connected with the Russian Government. However, ESL did not restrict the players and allowed them to compete in the championship, but under a neutral status.
Immediately after that, the Virtus.pro organization agreed to such conditions, allowing its players to take part in the championship. As a result, the team will compete at ESL Pro League Season 15 under the "Outsiders" tag.
In turn, Gambit Esports kept silent for a long time, leaving their fans in the dark. In addition, on the eve of all the players of the team removed the mention of the organization in their social networks. This gave rise to rumors regarding the sale of the roster of another esports organization.
ESL Pro League Season 15 runs from March 9 to April 10 in Germany. Gambit Esports players will play in the same group as Movistar Riders, BIG, GODSENT, Team Liquid and Party Astronauts.
