In 2022, during Modern Warfare 2's lifecycle, Call of Duty introduced an official online store for merchandise and apparel. This platform enabled players to purchase licensed franchise items, including clothing and accessories inspired by popular game modes such as Zombies, Multiplayer, and Warzone. Additionally, the CoD Store has offered exclusive in-game content as purchase bonuses, rewarding buyers with unique weapon camos and other cosmetic items.

Recently, Twitter user maaxiim_s discovered a new Verdansk-themed collection coming to the Call of Duty shop. The reveal happened when a pop-up notification appeared in the store, announcing the collection’s release with a countdown timer set for March 10. This date aligns with the fifth anniversary of Warzone, which originally launched on March 10, 2020.

Verdansk Collection Sparks Speculation About Warzone’s Future

The release of Verdansk-themed merchandise is not only a tribute to the map’s legacy but also strongly hints at its imminent return to Call of Duty: Warzone. Reports suggest that Verdansk will make its comeback with Warzone’s Season 3 update, scheduled to launch on March 20. The collection’s availability ten days prior could serve as the first step in a strategic marketing campaign aimed at building excitement and encouraging players to revisit the game.

Activision appears to be capitalizing on the hype surrounding Verdansk’s return, especially after Warzone's post-launch integration with Black Ops 6 led to player losses due to stability issues and widespread hacking concerns. This new initiative offers fans tangible, real-world items while simultaneously highlighting the long-awaited return of Verdansk.

To further enhance the nostalgic experience, the publisher is reportedly preparing a range of classic in-game content, including iconic Modern Warfare weapons, legendary operators, and familiar gameplay elements. This approach aims to recreate the essence of the original Verdansk experience, enticing both veteran players and newcomers to jump back into the action.
