Season 2 Update Brings New Content—and New Problems

After one of the longest seasons in Call of Duty history, Treyarch Studios launched the highly anticipated Season 2 update for Black Ops 6 on January 28. The patch introduced a wealth of new content, including multiplayer maps, weapons, and events. Ahead of the update, publisher Activision addressed community concerns in a detailed blog post, promising “notable bug fixes” based on player feedback.

While the update did deliver improvements, it also introduced new issues—most notably, a critical problem with the Season 2 Battle Pass.

Players Report Being Locked Out of the Battle Pass

On February 11, Treyarch released a smaller patch aimed at fixing lingering bugs and tweaking Ranked Play restrictions. However, this update appears to have introduced a new issue that prevents players from accessing the Battle Pass entirely.

Reports of the problem quickly flooded platforms like Reddit. User Internal_Page_486 shared a post detailing how attempting to access the Battle Pass instantly kicks them back to the lobby. Dozens of other players chimed in, confirming they were facing the same problem.

At the time of writing, Treyarch Studios has yet to officially acknowledge or address the issue. However, some players have found temporary workarounds. Reddit user FlapjackUK reported that completely restarting the game on their Xbox Series X allowed them to access the Battle Pass—but only briefly. Others noted that even after restarting, the problem returned within 15 minutes.

The Bug Extends Beyond the Battle Pass

It’s not just the Battle Pass causing headaches. Players are also reporting similar issues when trying to access other parts of the game. Users like Ino4x4 and Dethlord_youtube claim they are being booted back to the lobby when attempting to edit loadouts or customize weapons in the gunsmith.

This isn’t the first time Black Ops 6 has faced serious post-update issues. Earlier this month, an emergency patch was deployed for PC players after a previous update triggered widespread blue screen errors, making the game nearly unplayable. While Treyarch acted quickly to resolve that issue, they have remained silent on the current Battle Pass glitch.

Community Frustration Mounts

The recurring technical problems are testing the patience of the Call of Duty community. With each new update seemingly introducing as many bugs as it fixes, players are calling on Treyarch and Activision to improve the game’s stability and responsiveness to community feedback.

Until the developers address this latest Battle Pass issue, players are left with temporary fixes and lingering frustration, wondering when Black Ops 6 will finally deliver the smooth experience they’ve been promised.
