On January 30, 2025, the first Call of Duty League (CDL) Major of the 2025 season kicks off in Madrid, Spain. This tournament marks the official start of the professional CoD season, and every team aims to begin their campaign in the best possible way. CDL 2025 Major 1 Format

Major 1 is the first of five LAN events on the Call of Duty League calendar, featuring all 12 franchise teams competing on stage for CDL Points and, of course, a cash prize.

As an S-tier tournament, CDL 2025 Major 1 is one of the most significant Call of Duty events. It will run from January 30 to February 2, 2025. Teams qualified through regional qualifiers, with only the top 12 securing their spots. Every match will follow special rules designed by the Call of Duty League and franchise representatives.

All matches will be played in a BO5 (Best-of-Five) format, ensuring intense competition. However, the Grand Final will be played in a BO7 (Best-of-Seven) format, making it the ultimate test to determine the best team.

Unlike previous years, the Call of Duty League has not disclosed the total prize pool for Major 1 2025, keeping it a secret for now. For reference, the 2024 CDL season opener had a prize pool of $375,000 (~£301,563), so it’s expected that this event will have at least the same amount—if not more. Regarding CDL Points, only the top eight teams will earn them, which will be crucial for seeding at Major 2, set to take place in Allen, Texas.
