Call of Duty Update Brings Squid Game Crossover, New Modes, and Tweaks
Call of Duty’s latest update, 1.065.000, is now live, bringing an exciting Squid Game crossover event to Black Ops 6 and Warzone. The event, which includes a new and controversial Event Pass, introduces Squid Game-themed game modes and rewards, adding a fresh layer of excitement to the first-person shooter. While this crossover is the focal point of the update, players will also notice various changes and additions across the game's modes and mechanics, ensuring that the experience stays dynamic and engaging.
Among the highlights of the update are the introduction of new Multiplayer and zombie modes, as well as the addition of the High Roller Wildcard, which allows players to equip up to four Scorestreaks. Additionally, the patch brings multiple balance adjustments to Scorestreaks, such as reduced requirements for certain rewards and slight tweaks to their effectiveness. For example, the RC-XD's maximum damage has been slightly reduced, while the Sentry Turret’s fire rate and health have been increased. Players will also find improvements to the user interface, including better readability when searching for matches and enhancements to the AAR (After Action Report) flow.
However, there’s a notable absence in the update: anti-cheat improvements. Despite ongoing concerns from the community about cheaters disrupting the gameplay experience in Black Ops 6 and Warzone, Activision has not included any anti-cheat updates in this patch. Players have voiced frustration with the continued prevalence of cheaters, and while improvements are expected in Season 2, this delay has left many feeling disillusioned. For now, fans will have to wait until the next season for meaningful changes to the anti-cheat system.
As for the Squid Game content itself, there are several new modes to explore. One of the most exciting is the Red Light, Green Light mode, where players must avoid moving during “Red Light” phases or face elimination. The Squid Game Moshpit introduces a mix of classic modes like Team Deathmatch and Domination, but with a twist, incorporating elements like the Red Light, Green Light Scorestreak and the Piggy Bank mechanic. This update also introduces new weapons, including a Cleaver Melee weapon, available through Event rewards.
In addition to these updates, the Zombies mode also sees significant changes, particularly in the Citadelle des Morts map, where players can now use Elemental Sword Wonder Weapons that can hit multiple enemies per swing. The patch notes also address numerous bug fixes and improvements, such as adjustments to the special abilities of various swords and fixes for progression issues in the main quest. With all these new features, updates, and fixes, Call of Duty’s latest patch is sure to keep players engaged, even as they await further anti-cheat improvements in the future.
