Persistent Black Ops 6 Zombies Bug Frustrates Players Despite Patch Notes Fix
A frustrating bug in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies continues to plague players, despite Treyarch’s recent patch notes claiming it was resolved. The issue, which causes Vermin enemies to deal double damage in a single hit, has proven to be a significant annoyance for fans of the game mode.
A History of Bugs in Black Ops 6
While Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has generally been well-received, its Zombies mode has faced several bugs and glitches that have hindered the player experience. Some of these issues are harmless quirks, while others, like the infamous Nuketown glitch that forced players to exploit cheats, can seriously impact gameplay. Treyarch has earned a reputation for addressing such issues quickly, but the persistence of the Vermin double-attack bug suggests this fix didn’t go as planned.
Community Reports Highlight Ongoing Problems
Reddit user HarambeVengeance recently shared footage of the bug occurring during a Zombies match, recorded after the major January 3 patch. In the clip, the player is attacked by a Vermin and takes two hits simultaneously, resulting in their character being downed. This behavior directly contradicts the patch notes, where Treyarch stated they had “addressed an issue where Vermin could sometimes hit twice with one attack.”
To further illustrate the problem, the player highlighted that a single Vermin jump attack typically deals 67 damage, but in this instance, they received 134 damage instantly. Other players in the Reddit thread echoed similar post-patch experiences, suggesting the issue persists widely.
Frustrations with Vermin Rounds
Vermin rounds have already been a point of contention among the Zombies community, and this lingering bug only exacerbates the frustration. Players are now calling on Treyarch to revisit the issue and implement a more effective fix.
What’s Next for Black Ops 6?
Looking ahead, fans of Black Ops 6 can expect a steady stream of updates throughout 2025. The recently launched Squid Game crossover is just the beginning, with more content planned as part of the seasonal roadmap. While the release date for Season 2 is still uncertain, it’s likely on the horizon, given that Season 1 Reloaded dropped in early December.
For many players, a definitive fix for the Vermin double-hit bug would be the ultimate icing on the cake. With Treyarch’s track record of addressing community concerns, fans remain hopeful that this frustrating issue will soon be a thing of the past.
